Self Confidence Books – The Confidence Code

self confidence books

I know I am not the only one all about reading self confidence books! This blog post is the first in a series of reviews of my favorite Self Confidence books.

This blog post will serve two purposes. First, a review self confidence book called, “The Confidence Code” by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman, and second an introduction to my brand new Book Club

Okay first up, the Self Confidence book review: The Confidence Code!

The Confidence Code: Book Review

In full transparency I am only on Chapter 3 of this self confidence book.. But so far… It’s a strong YESSS for me! I think the book really starts in chapter two, so yes, feel free to skip the intro of The Confidence Code… (Also feel free to skim chapter one.) You’re welcome!

Chapter two is when the authors really start talking about confidence. And spoiler alert, the authors start by sharing what confidence is NOT.

It is also worth noting, this self confidence book is geared toward a female audience. The Confidence Code explores what it takes to be a confident woman, and what secrets men have that allow them to be generally relentlessly more confident than women.

For me, the big take-aways so far (in the first three chapters) are: Confidence is something you ARE born with, BUT you can definitely work to manipulate your genetic makeup to be the rock star that you know is waiting inside you.

You can purchase The Confidence Code as well as read many more reviews on Amazon.  To read my updated review please check out my Facebook Book Club.

Book Club

I announced on Instagram (@chanteamcintyre)  that I started a book club. I am super pumped about it. I never thought I would be confident enough to start a book club… but here I am.

The Confidence Code says in Chapter two that

  1. Confidence is not letting your doubts consume you.
  2. Confidence is about “doing” in spite of our own doubts.
  3. Confidence is the stuff that turns thoughts into actions

Confession

I have never started a book club because I was fearful that I would organize the entire thing, and 1) no one would join me, and 2) I might say something dumb when we discussed the book.

But truly, thanks to the wisdom shared in The Confidence Code, I am going to turn my thoughts into action.

Lastly, I do hope you give this self confidence book a read. And that you will join me in my Facebook book club. Our first set of books will be about.. You guessed it! Self Confidence.

Thanks and talk to you soon!
