Boys Shirt 3 Ways- featuring Teenage Mutant Turtles

Boys Shirt 3 Ways- featuring Teenage Mutant Turtles

Finding 3 ways to style a boys t-shirt is one of my superpowers! My son often will get stuck on a particular shirt and he will want to wear it to church, to play and to birthday parties.

I am so excited to be partnering with Nickelodeon to share with you how I style a boys t-shirt 3 ways.

Lately, my son has been obsessed with the new Rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Which is a total blast from the past as I grew up totally in love with Michelangelo? I mean what is cuter than a pizza-loving turtle who fights crime right? I know I am not the only one! I was so happy to oblige when my son wouldn’t take this shirt off.

Keys to styling a t-shirt multiple ways.

Layers

You will see a repeated trend of layers, in all 3 of these looks. Layers are a great way to dress up or dress down a t-shirt or any style.

Colors

Don’t be afraid to play with colors. The layers that you pair don’t have to match exactly as you will see in the third look.

Comfort

Part of the reason your my loves to wear t-shirts is the comfort, so be sure to think through the items that you pair with his favorite shirt so that he is comfortable and can be a kid. A stylish kid, but a kid nonetheless.

Boys T-shirt Style #1 – The Fancy Shirt

Lucky for me my son loves a good bow tie. So I styled this look by layering a collared shirt under the new Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Shirt from Walmart. Then I added a yellow bowtie for a pop of color and a neutral blazer. I played a bit with his shoes and opted for brown shoes to help keep his look feeling more casual even though he looks quite dapper if I were to say so myself.

Boys T-shirt Style #2- Day on the town.

This looks is perfect for a birthday party or when you need your son to look a little put together but not “fancy.” I paired this shirt with a bright yellow bubble vest and dark jeans. What I love about this particular look is that it can work in fall, winter or spring. The versatility of this look makes this my go-to option whenever I style a boys t-shirt.

Boys T-Shirt Style #3- Playdate at the park

Again I layered his favorite Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Shirt, but this time I layered it with a plaid shirt. This is such an easy combo. I love that the colors aren’t too matchy matchy and I chose a button up shirt that matched his jeans which allows him to wear virtually any color shirt underneath. In this case, the neon green of the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Shirt really pops, but as long as the button up shirt on top matches the pants or shorts, you can honestly throw any boys t-shirt under the button up shirt and really pull off a stylish look.

What I love about all three styles is that he gets to wear his favorite shirt. And I get to be comfortable wrangling a rambunctious little boy who looks put together.

You did a great job, using that Ninja Turtle t-shirt for the different styles, which are very simple to do. He looks well put together. You give Mothers out there ‘Hope’.
