Before I begin my microneedling first impressions, I want to first apologize. I didn’t initially plan to document my microneedling experience. As a result, these photos are not necessarily “blog” quality. I took these photos only for my own comparison. I am a tiny bit embarrassed that I am showing them to you. But I am going to share the photos here anyway! If you follow me on Instagram you already had a sneak peek.
Nearly three months ago, I did my first microneedling session. Before the session, I had super low expectations, and in fact, I was skeptical and nervous!
Fears
I had three major fears. 1- hyperpigmentation; scarring; and little to no results.
Fears Addressed
Hyperpigmentation- I was pleasantly surprised that microneedling didn’t leave any additional scaring. In fact, it took away much of the scaring that I started with.
Scarring
I had a little bit of bleeding after my first session but did not have any scarring. However, I was surprised that I did have a little bit of peeling much like a sunburn a few days after but again, no scarring.
Little Results
Because I was so nervous about scaring, I asked my nurse to go easy on the microneedling depth. (The professional microneedling equipment has adjustable needle lengths.) And I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t see significant results.
I am not sure that you can see the results… but put it this way… I went back for round two! And I told the doctor to not hold back! LOL

Again I apologize that I don’t have an “after” photo to show you my round 1 result. I didn’t plan on sharing the results in a formal way. 🙈 Despite the un-documentation, I am sooo happy with the results. Hence, I went back in for round two. If you look very closely even though the redness you can see that there is way less scaring on my face then there was on the before photos. Lastly, I promise to take better photos and when I do I will update this blog post.
